Advisory Board

What is an advisory board?

An advisory board is a group of individuals selected to provide strategic advice, expertise, and guidance to the management or board of directors of an organisation, such as a company, nonprofit, or social enterprise.

Unlike a formal board of directors, an advisory board does not have the authority to make binding decisions or govern the organisation. Instead, it acts as a resource, offering informed recommendations and insights to help the organisation achieve its goals.

In the case of BIG we need individuals who are passionate about our cause to volunteer themselves to be a part of the strategic delivery of BIG’s mission, vision and goals!

Key Criteria

To help us deliver against our vision, mission and goals we need passionate people who believe in our cause! To apply to be a part of our advisory board you do NOT need to personally identify as Black or Mixed Heritage.

All applicants must be 18+

To achieve our goals we are keen to have an advisory board filled with experienced and passionate people committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion who are willing to volunteer their time and where needed utilise their own network to support our efforts. So whether you are a White woman, South East Asian man or ethnically ambiguous non-binary person if you have the skills, experience and passion we’re looking for please consider applying.

Available Opportunities

Whilst we continue to grow our reach and impact we’d like to attract individuals who have diverse perspectives to provide a broader range of viewpoints and expertise than might be available within our founder alone. We’re also seeking those with great credibility and reputations to enhance our community reputation. Positive allies and those who are committed to EDI initiatives to support us in achieving our goals as we continue to build our community and reach.

We are also in need of individuals who can provide us with objective advice!

As an advisory board member objectivity is key!

Your advice and perspectives will be free from internal bias. You’ll be socially aware and understand some of the unique barriers faced by our key stakeholders and even better you’ll have ideas about how our organisation can be a change maker to improve outcomes for them in line with our vision, mission and goals!
