Vision and Values

Through our work we hope to encourage Black and Mixed Heritage people to explore careers in the public sector, for those who are already within the public sector we seek to provide opportunities to upskill and develop through career shadowing, mentoring and networking.

We also hope to change the narrative the working in the public sector is a thankless job, instead we want Black and Mixed heritage people to seek fulfilling roles in the public sector and to aspire to reach the highest heights without race as a barrier to achieving their career goals.

Authenticity

To be in control of your career you need to be comfortable and able to be you, we encourage authenticity and understand the value that comes from lived experience and the honesty of acknowledging these experiences to take steps to overcome them to build a fruitful and fulfilling career.

Community

We understand the unique barriers to engaging with and working in the public sector and we will strive to demystify and bridge the gap from a place of empathy to meet the needs of our community. We know that the Black and Mixed heritage community are not a monolith, and we will use an intersectional approach to treat all stakeholders with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Celebration

We understand that the contributions of public sector workers is invaluable to society, we need policy makers, HR professionals, analysts, economists and more from our community to improve public sector outcomes. We will continue to find ways to celebrate the challenging work done behind the scenes to deliver for the public!

Collaboration

We believe in working closely with different stakeholders to achieve our shared goals, creating and sharing opportunities for Black and Mixed heritage people to enter into and develop their potential in public service. Whether it’s a school, local authority or private company we understand the value that comes from collaborative work.
